Aw Aw!

It’s been eight months since I’ve passed the driver’s written exam and roughly three months since I got my license.

But only today did I manage to drive alone for the very first time.

And guess what.
What?
I didn’t crash.
Hurrah!

Anyway, I drove this morning to the recruiting agency for an interview, a preliminary interview.

And guess what?
What?
It’s also my very first job interview related to my degree.
Hurrah!

My appointment was at 10 AM. I woke up even before the alarm set to 7:30 blasted.

And guess what?
What?
I even managed to have breakfast which is an entirely new experience to me.
Hoo-hah!

Wait. Here’s another one.

Again, my appointment was at 10 AM. I woke up even before the alarm set to 7:30 blasted.

And guess what?
What?
I slept probably three in the morning.
Hoo-hah!

I was busy chatting with Penguin while simultaneously job hunting in Idealist, and occasionally reviewing my resume including my undergrad manuscript in case it’s brought up on the interview.

I talked to Penguin and she gave me a couple of suggestions plus sample interview questions. I fell asleep enumerating in my mind the scripted answers I’ve made up from our conversation.

And guess what?
What?
None of the questions I’ve had myself prepared for came up.
Boo!

Instead, I was merely asked to verify my educational background, elaborate on my undergrad thesis, and enumerate the major subjects I’ve taken related to research, including Chemistry courses. And that’s it.

Of course, the agency didn’t guarantee that I will get a job right away. Drop the phrase “right away” and the thought would still be the same.

I would have to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait.

Unless of course Destiny takes pity on me and sends a company who’s willing to hire an inexperienced college graduate who’s spent almost an entire year of her life deeply committed to shameless bumming. In short, a company who’s willing to take in a mediocre.

Now that’s too positive a thinking.

In any case, I am not, still not, bothered. Especially now that I had a lot of things in my mind. I’m talking about my commitment level to mission 101 (at least, to half of it), which is at its peak.

And guess what?
What?
I’ve recently signed myself up for an online volunteer work.
Ooooh!

By the way, the weather is wonderful today. Bright and sunny… so un-Washington. It would have been a perfect day if not for the fact that with all the windows open, chill seeps through my spine.

Yes, we got sunshine but still it is freaking damn cold.

Although I’d much rather prefer the weather here over that of the East Coast, especially that of DC, which is godawful it could drive me nuts.
